Tramlines 2010

So if you don't know, Tramlines is this little amazing free music festivle that was going on this weekend in Sheffield. Theres lots of venues around Sheffield where artists were playing and then some very big names on the main stage. This is where me and alix ended up yesterday. Since we were unable to go to a birthday party, her mum invited us to go with them to see their Sam who was playing in one of the venues. He drove us to sheffield, with gorillaz playing loudly through the cars speakings as he zoomed down the roads. Feeling like some kind of roadie or however it is spelt we helped  carry his equipment to a little pub called "The Lounge" to be told he was singing without his microphone and had to take it all back! lols. Even without the microphone and just using his guitar he was still brilliant, and I have to say is rather talented.

So yeh after this, I wasn't really expecting the amazing day we had. The main stage was only a few minutes away. Walking past the fences, we could hear the music but I never thought we would havee been able to get in. I just assume the people inside would have qued up for hours early that day and got tickets to get inside or something. Turns out we ended up in the que to get inside, and whilst we were debating that it would take hours to get in and should we leave or not, alixs mother got rather distracted by the bagginess of someone infront of us pants. It's okaie linda I don't understand the point of that style either :') Anyways, 10-15 minutes later we were in! I was shocked, it was so quick and at this point was rather excited.

We were quite far back but that god for alixandra needing the toliet :') Though she described the porty potty things as "disgusting, and one of the most horrific experiences of her life" we went for a walk around the area and found our way down infront of the main stage. I couldn't believe our luck!. I mean we had managed to get quite close. However thiss wasn't the hightlight of the day. The band One Night Only had just been playing and after shouting, "this is my message tone" to alix we were dancing aways to the next act when I spotted the lead singer down in a corner quite close to us. He was having photos with a few people. I think the adrenaline had taken over right now, think I quite like this whole festivle thing. Yeah anyways we got a hug and  photo from him :D

Me & Alix with George Craig :)

Sorry this is turning, into one long rambled post but I suppose thats because we did so much in just a short space of time and I cant truley express in words how much fun an excitment I had there. After meeting George Craig we got back in the crowd and ended up near the barriers at the front, which I think is rather an acomplishment for the day. We stayed there for hours and saw people like  Diagram of the heart, Gabrellia ( her last name excapes me,) , The Wanted, Lissie,  Dane Bowers, Craig David, Skepta,  and Proffesor Green.  So thinks im guna leave it at that because the rest of the other little memories from being in the crowd you problaby those "you have to be there" moments therefore it is quite pointless me writting about thems :')

Summing it up, Today was much better than i expected and loved every second of it. Maybe karma is finally paying me back, if you believe in that sort of thing lols. I deffinetly recommend Tramlines and hopefullys next year will be even bigger an better!

Sayonara! :)
